Anatomy and Physiology courses

As you can probably guess, my world as an osteopath revolves around structure (anatomy) and function (physiology), and these I could say, amongst others, are my passion. Over the years I have had the great privilege of teaching anatomy and physiology to students of physical therapy, sports therapy, acupuncturists and nutritionists; but all these have had to learn anatomy and physiology as part of their course.

I may be biased, but I believe all people should have even a basic knowledge and understanding of what is inside their body and how it works. Some may challenge me on this and ask – why?
I feel, very simply, if people understand a little of ‘normality’ and ‘health’ they can gain an appreciation of diseases and disorders. Through this they will seek attention earlier if they perceive a change in themselves before it becomes significant.
